John James ‘Jay’ Sposato – Elizabeth

John James “Jay” Sposato, 57, of Elizabeth, passed away on Friday, Oct. 7, 2022. A son of the late John Joseph and Antoinette “Sally” Gitas Sposato, he was born on Sept. 4, 1965, in Pittsburgh. Formerly of Fairhope, Jay has been a resident of Elizabeth for the past five years. He has been employed at U.S. Steel, Irvin Works for 20 years.  Jay worked proudly in hot mill maintenance. He loved his pizza, and his favorite was with green peppers, mushrooms, onions and pepperoni. He also loved to go to his favorite barbecue place in Monongahela, the Rib Cage, where “Jay’s Volcano Fries” were named after him.  A devoted husband and father, he is survived by his wife, Jillian Tinivell Sposato; three sons, John Robert Sposato of Fairhope and twins Skyler and River Sposato; twin daughters, Ember and Willow Sposato; and a sister and brother-in-law, Kimberly and Michael Hufford of Fairhope. Visitation and funeral services were held Monday with Pastor Robert Prinkey officiating.
