Stanley F. Yunkun Jr., 68, of Monongahela, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. Born Jan. 30, 1954, in New Eagle, Stanley was the son of the late Stanley F. Sr. and Agnes Gibbons Yunkun. After his graduation in 1972, from the former Monongahela High School, he went on to earn his associate degree in business management from California State University. Stanley worked for 19 years for the Ringgold School District until his retirement in 2019. A member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela, he enjoyed gardening, taking care of his yard, fishing and traveling with his wife. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Mocniak Yunkun, whom he married on Oct. 21, 1978; his granddaughter, Emily Rose of Canonsburg; two sisters, Cheryl Greenwood of Finleyville and Christine (Douglas) Thorne of Lanoka Harbor, N.J.; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph D. Yunkun, who passed away March 2, 2018. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2022. Blessing prayers will begin in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela.
