Helen F. Pipik – Donora

Helen F. Pipik, age 99, of Donora, passed away Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, at Havencrest Heathcare and Rehabilitation Center in Carroll Township. She was born Jan. 8, 1923, in Donora, daughter of the late Kazimer Debowski and the late Mary Chmaj Debowski. She was a Catholic by faith. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Pipik; a daughter, Marlene Geary; two grandchildren; a sister, Violet Zielinski; three brothers, Walter Debowski, Joseph Debowski and Ed Debowski; a son-in-law, Larry Sanchez; and a daughter-in-law, Wendy Pipik. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Rosemary (Armondo) Ruiz of Texas, Mary Louise Sanchez of Donora, Karen (David) Lapole of Mercerberg, and Joseph (Helen) Pipik of Illinois; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Anthony Debowski of Carroll Township; a son-in-law, Earl Geary of Normanville; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where a private family visitation was held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Monday, Sept. 12, 2022. Funeral services were held at noon in the funeral home, and interment followed in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
