Dwain D. Johnson – Donora

Dwain D. Johnson, 81, of Donora, passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022, at Hallsworth House, Monessen. Born Dec. 20, 1940, in North Charleroi, he was the son of the late Paul D. and Dolores O. Jones Johnson. A lifelong resident of Donora, Mr. Johnson was a member of the former First United Methodist Church in Donora and a current member of First United Methodist Church in Monongahela. Mr. Johnson worked as a caseworker for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Welfare for 33 years and U.S. Steel in Christy Park for 15 years. He was a member of F&AM Lodge 626, the Pittsburgh Shriners and Donora Elks No. 1265. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Strahosky Johnson, to whom he was married for 36 years; son and daughter-in-law, Stuart D. and Nova Johnson of Zanesville, Ohio; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Joe Bunta of McMurray; stepson, Frank M. Tokach of Pittsburgh; two brothers and a sister-in-law, William and Jeannie Johnson of Warrenton, Va., and Dennis V. Johnson of Belle Vernon; grandson, Troy D. Johnson of New Lexington, Ohio; step-grandson, Joey M. Bunta of McMurray; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene J. Johnson, who passed at the age of 1.
