Last season, McKeesport came within a couple of feet of reaching the WPIAL championship game.
This year, the Tigers have something to prove and they’re willing to do whatever it takes to get beyond the semifinals.
Head coach Matt Miller said the near miss has been the main motivator for the Tigers following a 9-3 season.
“Just being that close. It’s still hard to believe how close we were,” Miller said during the team’s media day. “It’s absolutely been the motivation throughout the offseason and throughout camp heading into this season.”
Miller said his team plans to play with a big chip on its shoulder this season in the new Big 7 Conference.
“Offensively, we have a load of weapons at our disposal and we’re really excited about the way we believe we’re going to be able to move the ball,” he said.
