Dolly DeMillion Gaudio – Monessen

Dolly DeMillion Gaudio was born in Monessen on Feb. 24, 1932, the daughter of John L. and Ruth DeMillion. She passed away with her family at her side on Aug. 16, 2022. She was a life-long resident of Monessen and served the community by managing the Monessen office of the Water Authority for 22 years. After retirement, Dolly continued to serve her community through her volunteer work with Meals on Wheels, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and the Italian Society of Mutual Aid in Monessen, where she was treasurer of the society for 10 years, as well as chairperson of the Scholarship Committee. Dolly also volunteered over 14,500 hours at the Monongahela Valley Hospital and served its patients through the Hospital Auxiliary. She was the auxiliary secretary for 10 years and after 25 years of service was awarded Life-Member status. She and her husband loved to travel, cook, spend time with their family, and always enjoyed attending their grandchildren’s activities. Dolly was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Frank S. Gaudio; and her great-grandson, Jude Francis Marano. She is the beloved mother of Dr. Frank (Kathleen Joyce) Gaudio, John Gaudio and Gloria Gaudio Cilke (Dr. James). She is the cherished grandmother of Francine Cilke, Dr. Carl Cilke (Taylor), Maria Gaudio Marano (James), Brian Gaudio, Dr. Sean Gaudio; and great-grandmother of James (Mino) Marano and Luca Marano. Family and friends are invited to celebrate a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd., Monessen, with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Entombment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family requests that everyone attending the Mass at the church please wear a mask. The DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen, have been entrusted with the arrangements.
