Eva Lynn McCracken, 83, of Whittier, Calif., died peacefully at her home on Aug. 2, 2022. She was born on Feb. 13, 1939, in Charleroi, Pa., daughter of the late Virginia and Vernon Pfile. After the death of her husband, Norman “Herk” McCracken, in 1978, she relocated to Southern California. There, as a single mother, she raised her three children, worked full time, and earned her master’s degree in fine arts from California State University, Fullerton. Upon receiving her degree, she worked for 13 years as a community college art instructor teaching weaving and watercolor painting to seniors. As a weaver, she was an active member of the Designing Weavers Guild. As the small business owner of Fiberquest, she sold weaving supplies to other fiber artists. She is survived by her children, Rosemary, Dale and Craig (Lauren) McCracken; her grandchildren, Hunter and Quinn McCracken; and her brothers, Walter and John Pfile. Private services will be held.
