Charles ‘Charlie’ Buzalka – Jefferson Township

Charles “Charlie” Buzalka, 80, of Jefferson Township, passed away Aug. 8, 2022. Born April 4, 1942, in Floreffe, he was the son of the late Martin and Catherine Cibula Buzalka. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Chuck; brothers, Martin and Steve; and a sister, Dorothy. Charlie Buzalka was a member of the former Holy Spirit Church in Fayette City and St. Sebastian Church in Belle Vernon. Charlie started as a deckhand, then retired as a pilot from U.S. Steel Clairton Works. He was an avid trap shooter and a member of Ruffs Dale, Rostraver, Clariton and Star Junction gun clubs. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and grandchildren. Charlie was a veteran of the United States Army. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Louise; son, Richard and wife Tracy of Carlisle; grandchildren, Christopher, Dylan, Madison and Nola; daughter-in-law, Lisa; sisters-in-law, Bettie and Donna; and several nieces and nephews. Honoring Charlie’s wishes, there will be no public viewing or visitation. Arrangements are being held under the direction of ELEY MCCORY FUNERAL HOME in Fayette City.
