Laura L. Ring – Monongahela

By obits

Laura L. Ring, 70, of Monongahela, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. She was born on Nov. 9, 1951, in New Eagle, daughter of the late Aelred “Sonny” and Delores “Dolly” Pellegrini Burgoyne. Laura was a lifelong resident of Victory Hill. She was a 1969 graduate of Monongahela High School and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Monongahela. She was employed at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Rail Mill in Monessen from 1978-87. When the mill closed, she worked at Genesis Plastics in Speers until 1992. Laura then went to Connelly Pittsburgh Public School of Nursing where she earned her LPN degree. She was a lead nurse at Country Meadows in Bridgeville, until her retirement in 2009. She enjoyed baking cookies at Christmas or for anyone who was getting married. She was the best cook around and no one could compete with her stuffed cabbage rolls. Anytime she planned a party, she said, “You can never have too much!” Laura enjoyed going to get a pedicure with her daughters, to bingo with her friend, Georgia, to the Meadows Casino with Linda, and her weekly cup of coffee every Saturday with her friend, Toni. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her three children, Amanda (Bryan) Holleran of McKeesport, Daniel Ring of Monongahela, Dolly (Josh) Sichi of Monongahela; three grandchildren, Ruby Ring, Sonny Sichi, and JJ Holleran, the loves of her life; brother, Keith (Pam) Burgoyne of Chalk Hill; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Lacie Cole Ring; sister, Vicki Lynn Behrendt; brother-in-law, John Behrendt; and nephew, Chad Burgoyne. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2022, with the Rev. Mark Woomer officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD or to Save the Mommies at www.savethemommies.com.
