William ‘Bill’ Paul Yoki Atlanta, Ga., formerly of Monessen

Bill was born in Monessen on Aug. 26, 1941, son of the late Vilho “Bill” and Pauline Yoki. He passed away on July 23, 2022, in Atlanta, Ga. He graduated from Monessen High School in 1959 and Washington and Jefferson College, Class of 1963, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Bill was a store manager at G.C. Murphy Co. and Ames Department Store for 28 years. He worked at Bricks Market in Tunkhannock, Pa., for three years, then Walmart, where he retired after 28 years in 2019. Bill was an active member and past president of the Tunkhannock, Pa., Rotary Club. He was chairman for the District 7410 Youth Exchange Program, and his family hosted students from many countries. After moving to Atlanta, Bill worshiped the Lord with his family at Norcross First Methodist Church and was a member of the Generations Sunday School Class. Bill was the assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 247 Atlanta Area Boy Scout Council. Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Julia Arnold Yoki; his daughter, Jennifer Yoki; and two grandchildren, Tyja Traore and Issace Traore, all of Atlanta; his sister, Bonnie Yoki Egros (Jim) of Monessen; and two nephews, James Egros (Kelly) of Flintstone, Md., and Michael Egros of Monessen. A memorial service will take place at Norcross First Methodist Church in Norcross, Ga. Visitation will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, with a service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Georgia. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.
