Push underway to expand state’s film tax credit program

Film production is a money-maker in Pennsylvania, bringing in more than $3 billion in revenue since the tax credit began in 2007, according to state Sen. Camera Bartolotta. That’s why she is calling on her colleagues in the Senate to extend its film tax credit by nearly 80%.
The state Senate Finance Committee recently approved legislation that would increase the current level of state assistance for the Film Tax Credit program from $70 million to $125 million.
