McKeesport Area reapproves budget

McKeesport Area School Board on Wednesday had to reapprove the 2022-23 final budget, and it once again narrowly passed.
Prior to public comment Wednesday, Solicitor Gary Matta pointed out that the state requires a proposed budget to be on display for public review and comment for 30 days. When the board voted 5-4 last month to pass the spending plan, it was only 28 days into that period. Matta asked the board to consider voting to amend Wednesday’s agenda to include a motion to consider passing the 2022-23 budget, which the board unanimously voted in favor of.
