It’s Etched in Stone: Bible stories and heroes of the faith

Several years prior to the formation of the First Street Ramblers — before my fascination for sports stars, cowboys, Tarzan, and Batman, but probably about the same time as Popeye, my mother read to me a story about another strong man.
His name was Samson. Instead of his power coming from spinach, like Popeye, his strength was in his long hair. Then this lady named Delilah came along, tricked him and cut his hair. That made me really angry, but I was happy again when God restored his power and he pushed against those pillars to knock down a temple that crushed all those evil Philistines.
