Joseph Richard Sikorski – Rostraver Township

By obits

Joseph Richard Sikorski, 86, of Rostraver Township, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital in Carroll Township. Born June 10, 1935, in Glassport, he was the son of the late Frank and Stella Zdobinski Sikorski. Mr. Sikorski was a faithful member of the Church of St. Anne in Rostraver Township and served in the U.S. Army National Guard. Joe spent most of his childhood in Glassport and nearly all of his adulthood in Rostraver. Joe was helpful, respectful, and kind to his core. His determined demeanor made him well suited for his job at Mendlowitz Trucking Company, where he deftly puzzled his way through even in the trickiest motor and engine fixes. In his early 20s, Joe styled his hair like Elvis Presley and drove a big pink Plymouth with fins on the back. He was so hot to trot that he caught the eye of his future wife, Joann Ancarana and never looked back. A study in self-reliance and resourcefulness, Joe would fix his own appliances around the house and drive himself to the hospital when injured or sick. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed working on his car, tending to his yard and going on the occasional trip to the casino with his stepson, Wade. Joe was a die-hard Steelers fan and an avid cat lover, and he was endlessly amused by the quirks of his pets over the years. He is survived by stepson, Wade B. and Vivian L. Goslicky of Finleyville; two grandchildren, Jill Goslicky and husband Aaron Krebs, and Michael Goslicky and wife Terria Dotson Goslicky; four great-grandchildren, Gavin W. Goslicky, Jolynn M. Goslicky, Grayson W. Goslicky and Idella D. Krebs; sister-in-law, Armenia Sikorski; seven nieces and nephews, Michael Sikorski and wife Angie, Frank Sikorski and wife Janet, Dr. Christopher Sikorski and wife Barbara, Patty Ann Savage, Bobby Jerome, Andy Martin and Billy Martin; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews, Michael, Gavin, Nicole, Chris and Elana Sikorski, Donna and Andrea Jerome. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Ancarana Sikorski; son, Paul Sikorski; three brothers, Benedict, Frank and Paul Sikorski; two sisters, Agnes Jerome and Gertrude Martin; and a stepson, Vincent P. Goslicky. Those who knew him sorely miss his quick, warm, glinting laugh which always filled the room. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME &CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayers of transfer will be held at 10:20 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral Mass at Church of St. Anne with the Rev. David Nazimek as celebrant. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Port Vue. Condolences accepted at the funeral home’s website, www.parzynskifuneralhome.com.
