Marie A. Scurci Monios – Belle Vernon

Marie A. Scurci Monios, 94, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022, at her home. Born Nov. 19, 1927, in Monessen, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa Salvino Scurci. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 67 years, Mrs. Monios was a member of The Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monessen. Marie enjoyed tending to her outside flower garden and her indoor house plants, cooking and baking, but most of all spending time with her family and was very proud of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by five daughters, Terri McBeth of Rostraver Township, Valerie and Gabe Tischler of Cabot, Ark., Jackie Kovacs and partner Tom McCarthy of Allison Park, Laurice “Reese” Monios of Rostraver Township, and Jamie and Jack Porter of Owasso, Okla.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her pet dog, Buttons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gust W. Monios; and two sisters, Jean Agostine and Pattie Donley. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston of St. Sebastian R.C. Church officiating.
