Alma A. Jarvis – Belle Vernon, formerly of Forward Township

Alma A. Jarvis, 96, of Belle Vernon, formerly of Forward Township, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022, in Havencrest Nursing Center. A daughter of the late Edmund and Bertha Achtzehn Goettel, she was born in Wilson, Pa., on Aug. 5, 1925. Alma had been employed at the Clairton Mill during World War II and worked side-by-side with the “love of her life,” John Jarvis, for 60 years on the family farm. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and will surely be missed but never forgotten. She is survived by a daughter and son in-law, Karen and Mark Frederick of Belle Vernon; two sons and daughters in-law, Thomas Jarvis (Debbie) of Forward Township, and John N. and Rhonda Jarvis of Elizabeth; six grandchildren, Thomas Jarvis of Elizabeth, Billie Jo Jarvis of Somerset, John Jarvis of Elizabeth, Ray Frederick, Pat Frederick and Mike (Angie) Frederick, all of Belle Vernon; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John N. Jarvis, on Jan. 1, 2008; four sisters, Iva Metz, Emma Joll, Yvonne Garvan, and Charlotta Cain; and four brothers, Brinton G. Goettel, Ernie Goettel, E. William Goettel and Eddie Goettel. There will be no public visitation or services.
