Gina Thorpe, 54, of Monessen, passed away on May 22, 2022. She was born on Feb. 12, 1968, in Monongahela. She was preceded in death by her partners, Vincent Campbell and Lonnie Scott Jr. Gina was a long-term resident of Monessen and a 1986 graduate of Monessen High School. Gina held many jobs serving her community. She was employed by Monessen City School District, The Michaels Organization and Southwestern Pennsylvania Human Services (SPHS), to name a few. Gina was a member of First Christian Church in Monessen. She devoted much of her life to her children and grandchildren. She supported their endeavors by attending many academic and sporting events, working concession stands and leading or supporting fundraising efforts for the benefit of her children and the community. She loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Donna Thorpe; her siblings, Cindy Gernot and Brian Thorpe; her son, Vincent Campbell; her daughters, Alicia Campbell Shafik (John Shafik) and Loni Scott; her granddaughters, Sidney Campbell and Michaela Shafik; her lifelong friend and godmother of her children, Robin Madison; and countless extended family members, friends who are like family, and community members. Those who were touched by Gina are invited to celebrate her life at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 441 Reed Ave., Monessen, for visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2022. Services will be held in the funeral home immediately after with Pastor Conrad Auel officiating. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be mailed in Gina’s honor to Mon Valley Youth and Teen Association Inc., 160 Thompson Ave., Donora, PA 15033.
