City of McKeesport to save money by refinancing bonds

McKeesport council, with all members present on Wednesday, unanimously approved refinancing its bonds. Prior to council taking a vote, Mayor Michael Cherepko called passing the ordinance to refinance the city’s debts “very critical to our future.” John McShane of Boenning & Scattergood Inc., who Cherepko said has been working with his team as McKeesport’s bond counsel for around 20 years, gave a presentation to council before passing the ordinance.
