Richard T. “Skeeter” Brown Jr. departed this life unexpectedly, on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. He was currently a resident of McKeesport, but formerly resided in Clairton. He was born May 2, 1947, to Richard T. Brown Sr. and Martha Mae “McFarland” Brown of Clairton, who preceded him in death. Richard graduated from Clairton High School where he was one of the best athletes. He was exceptional in football and basketball. Richard was highly recruited and sought after from top Division I Colleges. With his athletic prowess in football, everyone wanted to be “Skeeter” Brown. Richard attended the University of New Mexico on a full football scholarship. Richard was a U.S. Army veteran. After serving in the army, he resided in New York for a number of years. While there, he was employed at EF Hutton brokerage firm. Upon returning to Clairton, he worked in the Clairton Steel Mill.  Richard is survived by four children, Kevin (Leonette) Brown of West Mifflin, Krista (Daniel) Johnson and Monique Johnson of Houston, Texas, Eugene Brown of Miami, Fla.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, the Rev. Brenda Smith of St. Augustine, Fla., and Minister Ann Brown of Clairton; nieces; nephews; cousins; his caregiver, Dexter Hill; and a host of friends. Funeral services at The Youth Department Children of Israel, 329 Ninth St., McKeesport, viewing from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022, with service at 11 a.m. with Bishop Thelma J. Mitchell, eulogist. Burial at the McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery, McKeesport. Celebration of life placed into the hands of the HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora, 724-379-5420, Karl Jackson, funeral director.
