Edward Joseph Riley – Monongahela

Edward Joseph Riley, 90, of Monongahela, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on March 31, 2022. He was born in Charleroi on July 24, 1931, son of the late Joseph and Margret Buchta Riley. Ed was a 1949 graduate of Charleroi High School and a faithful and active member of Transfiguration Church (now St. Andrew the Apostle Parish). He retired from West Penn Power as a power control supervisor after a 40-year career. He enjoyed woodworking, travel and helping others. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Carole; three sons, Robert (JoAnn) of Brownstown, Mich., Dennis (Pat) of Weaverville, N.C., and Patrick (Amy) of Johnstown, Pa.; and daughter, Julie Goodside (Michael) of California, Pa. He was a grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Private visitation and Mass were held Saturday, April 2, 2022. Arrangements were entrusted to the FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Riley’s name to the Washington Area Humane Society, PO Box 66, Eighty Four, PA 15330.
