John R. ‘Bob’ Folk Sr. – Bunola

John R. “Bob” Folk Sr., 87, of Bunola, died Wednesday, March 23, 2022, in Jefferson Hospital. He was born Jan. 12, 1935, in Cumberland, Md., the son of Clarence Nelson and Ruth Blanche Mason Folk. Bob was a member of Bunola Church of the Nazarene and was a United States Marine Corps veteran. He retired from Cerdec Corp. in Washington, where he was employed as a production technician for six years. He was a member of the Mon Valley Leathernecks in Monongahela and a life member of the Marine Corps League, Washington County Detachment 1138. Bob was an avid trap shooter, enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, working in his yard and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by two sons, John R. Folk Jr. of Bunola and Joseph Folk and wife Kristin of Pleasant Hills; two grandchildren, Ty and Emma Folk; brother, Carl Folk and wife Beatrice of Bunola; and two sisters, Nancy Williams of Bunola and Sharon Fine of Carroll Township. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jolene Crovak Folk, who died June 24, 1998; and two sisters, Selina Peterson and Dorothy Salka. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2022, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2022, with the Rev. Jeff Lytle officiating. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth.
