James M. Kirsch – Jefferson Hills

By obits

James M. Kirsch, 76, of Jefferson Hills, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022. A son of the late Clarence and Virginia Kirsch, Jamie is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Kathleen Bowers Kirsch; daughter, Julie Collins and her husband Bob; son, Michael and his wife Lindsay; sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Denny Chernay; brother, Rick Kirsch and wife Carol; and his nieces and their families. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, whom he adored and found every opportunity to shower with his love and unique zeal for life: Sarah, Emma, Grace, Jack, Cameron and Colin. Jamie’s last moments were spent doing what he loved, sinking a par putt on the 17th green. He was a teacher and football coach at Upper St. Clair for 30 years. He was arguably even busier following his retirement in 1999, enjoying his golden years to the fullest — he would play golf on any course, travel to any destination and relax with his loving family. He was a member of First Christian Church of Fayette City, where he lent his rich voice to the church choir. He was also a member of Nemacolin Country Club, enjoying golfing with his good friends. He had a zest for life and unbridled love for his many friends and family. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com, 724-929-5300. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Wayne Boring officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
