Lois A. Kocaka Cantini, 89, of New Eagle, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at her home in New Eagle. Lois was born in Monongahela on July 14, 1932, a daughter of the late Vasily and Mary (Himich) Kocaka. She graduated from the former Monongahela High School in 1950 and retired in 1995 as the office manager for the Grant Maintenance Co. in Monongahela. Lois enjoyed reading on her Kindle, playing bingo and putting together jigsaw puzzles. She loved to watch golf and all Pittsburgh sports teams. Lois loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which brought her so much love and joy in her life! She is survived by her daughter, Peg Smith of Monongahela; and a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Rochele Cantini of Monongahela; two sisters, Betty Preston of Clearwater, Fla., and Marti Sheppard of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Michael (Kimberly) Smith, Jennifer (Mike) Borne and Celina and Gianni Cantini; and two great-grandchildren, Josephine and Michael Borne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Humbert L. Cantini, who died in 1981; a son, Robbie Cantini, who died in 1976; and her son-in-law, Kevin Smith, who died June 10, 2013; and seven brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2022, followed by inurnment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township.
