Edwin ‘Eddie’ R. Hazelbaker – Charleroi

Edwin “Eddie” R. Hazelbaker, 89, of Charleroi, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022. Born on April 14, 1932, he was the son of the late William F. and Phyllis Flint Hazelbaker. He was a graduate of California High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a retired maintenance worker for Combustion Engineering (Ductmate), was a member of the Roscoe Legion and formerly served as a school board director in Charleroi. He was also a lover of animals, music, nature and sports. Eddie is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Eugene) Phillips of Mandeville, La., and Cheryl (John) Senko of Charleroi; grandchildren, Patrick Phillips, Christina (Francisco) Morales and Natalie (Josué Breaux) Phillips; great-grandchildren, Emilia, Isabella and Dulce Elena Morales; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Doptis Hazelbaker; brothers, William, Harold “Jack” and James Hazelbaker; and sister, Carolyn Hrivnak. Friends may attend a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2022, at St. Andrew the Apostle in Charleroi, located at 624 Washington Ave. Interment with military honors will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
