Carol Ann Sweeney Duda, 71, of Mount Morris, Pa., died Tuesday, March 15, 2022, after a lengthy illness. Born in North Charleroi on Oct. 20, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Helen M. Herbert Sweeney. Carol was a registered nurse and worked at numerous doctor’s offices, and lastly worked for Riverchase Dermatology in Naples, Fla. She loved traveling and she truly enjoyed life. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of eight years, Joseph J. Duda; daughter, Shannon (Daniel) Weinstein of Fort Myers, Fla.; grandchildren, Shelby, Cassidy and Hunter; brother, Brian Sweeney of Pensacola, Fla.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Sweeney. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2022, at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com. Following the visitation, a blessing service will be held at 8 p.m. with the Rev. David J. Nazimek officiating. A memorial Mass for Carol will be held at a later date. Masks are optional for anyone attending the visitation or the blessing service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to The American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org or The Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org.
