Charles W. Rauscher – Belle Vernon

By obits

Charles W. Rauscher, 81, of Belle Vernon, passed away March 13, 2022, in his home. He was born Dec. 6, 1940, in Charleroi, son of the late Maynard and Ruth Rauscher. An automobile enthusiast from a very early age, he was a mechanic and a detailer for many years at multiple dealerships in the area, sold insurance for a brief stint and operated his own Sunoco service station. He was always being asked “Do you do repair work here? It’s too clean to be a service station.” He also was a member of the Charleroi and Coudersport lodges. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Ann Anderson Rauscher, in 1979; sister, Muriel Rauscher; and a very close uncle, Merle Rauscher, with whom he sent humorous cards back and forth for many years and shared many laughs over the phone. He is survived by his long-term partner, Nancy Rostcheck; daughters, Valerie Lynn Rauscher of Rochester, Pa., and Kristen D. Rauscher of California; two grandchildren, Kaleb (Shawnna) McBride of Beaver Falls, Pa., and Jonas (Tori) McBride of Rochester, Pa.; great-granddaughter, Emilia Ira McBride; and a very close cousin Kurt (Patti) Rauscher of Bokeelia, Fla. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934. www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com.
