Rosa M. Mazzie – Charleroi
Rosa M. Mazzie, 99, of Charleroi, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2022, at The Residence at Hilltop. Born on Jan. 9, 1923, in Charleroi, Rosa was the daughter of the late James and Teresa Bruno Rossano. Rosa’s faith in God was strong. She loved to attend daily Mass until she was unable to drive herself at age 93. She was an active member of the former Mother of Sorrows Church in Charleroi. She taught Sunday school along with first communion class. She was a member of Mary Mother of the Church (now Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish) and served with the Altar Society, the Ladies Guild and was an active member of the Charleroi Golden Agers. Rosa was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was kind and generous to everyone she met. She was a wonderful cook and took pride in sharing her delicious raviolis, homemade bread, sauce and gnocchi with family and friends. There was always room for one more at her table. Surviving to cherish Rosa’s memory her children, daughter, Judy (Martin P. Beichner Jr.) Beichner of Washington, Pa.; her son, Alfred O. (Nancy) Mazzie Jr.; her beloved grandchildren, Mark P. Beichner, Danielle B. Cornell, Lisa Muller and Chris Aiello; great-grandchildren, Isabel and Gianna Beichner, Keegan Kosek, Salvador Cornell, Cameron Cole, Mason and Gabriella Muller; and her numerous beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Rosa was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alfred O. Mazzie Sr.; her sister, Phyllis Caruso; sister, Clara Panepinto; and brother, Anthony Rossano. Friends and family will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., (formerly Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home), 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at St. Andrew Apostle Parish, Charleroi site, Seventh Street and Washington Avenue in Charleroi.
