Carmine J. Smuzinick, 81, of West Newton, died Thursday, March 10, 2022. Born in Mount Pleasant on March 1, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Carmen Martorella and Eleanor Paterline Bruno. Carmine was the hotel manager for Sleeper Inn, which is now Comfort Inn in Rostraver township, and was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in West Newton. She loved playing cards and was a member of several card clubs. She is survived by her children, Diana (Russell) Poland of Madison, Donna Miller (John Van Divner) of Perryopolis and Christopher Smuzinick of Republic; grandchildren, Brandy Federer of Smock and Jeffrey Smuzinick of Republic; great-grandchildren, Jourdan Stark and Ashton Stark of Perryopolis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Smuzinick. There will be no public visitation and a celebration of Carmine’s life will be held at a later date.
