Gregg McKita – Speers

Gregg McKita, 55, of Speers, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in North Charleroi on Nov. 29, 1966, son of Gay Lynne Edwards McKita of Charleroi and the late Richard G. McKita. Gregg was the executive vice president of project management for Davison in Pittsburgh. He was on the board of directors and a coach for the Charleroi Youth Baseball Association and a coach for Charleroi Youth Basketball, CFD Soccer and CMFL football. He was also a member of the Charleroi Area High School Baseball Boosters, the Charleroi Belgium Club, 10th Street Athletic Club and the Charleroi Italian Club. Gregg was very involved with his son’s and daughter’s activities. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mishelle McKita; son, Dominic and daughter, Kelsey both at home; a brother, Richard M. McKita of Charleroi; and nephews, Richard J. McKita and Chase McKita. Gregg was preceded in death by his brother, Jason McKita. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022, with Pastor Daniel Grimes presiding. Interment will follow at Howe Cemetery, Long Branch. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made in Gregg’s name to Charleroi Advance Baseball, 905 Fifth St., Charleroi, PA 15022.
