Richard W. Green, 82, of Monongahela, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 3, 2022, in his home. He was born March 21, 1939, in New Eagle, son of Albert and Marian Weber Green. Richard was an active member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Monongahela. He was a 1957 graduate of Monongahela High School and an Air Force veteran. He was a postal carrier for Monongahela and New Eagle for about 30 years before he retired. Richard’s family came first, and he enjoyed spending time with them. He loved sports, yard work, fishing and playing golf. He is survived by his wife, Diane Pergola Green, with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage on Sept. 21, 2021; two sons, Rick Green and wife JoLayne of Meadeville, and Jason Green and wife Amy of Belle Vernon; four grandchildren, Justin, Braden, Lydia and Gina Green; and sister-in-law, Carol Green. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Green. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2022, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2022. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington Area Humane Society, P.O. Box 66, Eighty Four, PA 15330. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.fryefuneralhome.com.
