Mary Louise Assenat, 63, of Monessen, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022, in the ER of Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. She was born on June 26, 1958, in North Charleroi, daughter of the late Charles E. and Mary Reno Assenat. Mary Louise was a 1976 graduate of Monessen High School and received her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Duquesne University. She lived in Edison, N.J., for many years working as a manager for AT&T at its corporate headquarters. Mary Louise returned to live in Monessen in 2016 following an illness and was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Left to cherish her memory are her two brothers, Charles A. Assenat and Stephen G. (Jennifer) Assenat, both of Monessen; a niece, Louisa Assenat; step niece, Alena (Caleb) Cox; step nephew, E.J. Blaszaczak; and by several aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister, Carmella J. Assenat. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Services will be held Monday, Feb. 28, 2022, beginning with a 9:30 a.m. blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. Condolences accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
