Rosemarie Gail Bird, 67, of Belle Vernon, passed away peacefully on Feb. 23, 2022, in her home with her family by her side. Born in Charleroi on Sept. 9, 1954, Rose is the daughter of the late Frank Dale Chew Jr. and Elise Bertin Chew. A graduate of Charleroi High School, Class of 1973, Rose was a member and deaconess of First Christian Church in Fallowfield Township. An avid sports fan, she especially enjoyed cheering on her grandchildren in every sport they played. Surviving to cherish Rose’s memory are her husband of 47 years, Ronald Allen Bird of Belle Vernon; daughter, Jennifer (Dane) Wilcox of Bear, Del.; sons, Ronald (Icyline) Allen Bird Jr. of Belle Vernon and Brandon (Lauren) Bird of Monongahela; her sister, Linda Lapinksy; brother, Frank (Joanne) Dale Chew III; five grandchildren, Zachary, Alexander, Emily, Isaac and Liam Bird; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her parents. Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday Feb. 26, 2022, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC. (formerly Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home), 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday Feb. 28, 2022, at First Christian Church, Walnut Ridge Road, Charleroi, with the Rev. Larry Coltura officiating. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow in The Olive Branch Cemetery. Personal condolences may be sent to the family at www.hogan-melenyzer.com.
