Joseph A. Scagline Jr. – Mount Pleasant

Joseph A. Scagline Jr., 90, of Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022, in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant. He was born Nov. 21, 1931, in Monongahela, son of Joseph and Ruth Griffith Scagline. Joseph retired after 35 years at Combustion Engineering in East Monongahela, where he was employed until its closing. Joseph was an ordained pastor, loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Nagy Scagline, with whom he celebrated 71 years of marriage; four sons, Joseph, Stephen, Michael and Mark Scagline; five grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah Brizzi and Elizabeth Munger; and a brother, Donald Scagline. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Scagline; and sister, Mary White. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela. Interment will be private in the Monongahela Cemetery.
