By obits

Virginia Lee Marmie, 87 of Lima, went into the arms of Jesus at 7:50 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, at Vancrest of Delphos, Ohio. Virginia was born June 7, 1934, in Donora to William and Nevada Adams Peters, who preceded her in death. She married Bernard Marmie in 1978, and they were married for 40 years before his death. Previously, she was married to Herman A. Lang. Virginia had various jobs through the years, but the ones she was especially proud of were her activity director jobs at Kenric Manor in Donora, The Grand Manor in Upper St. Clair and Mon Valley Care Center in Charleroi. She was very proud of this ministry to the elderly for 35 years. She moved to Lima, Ohio, with her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Scott Young, in July 2019. The family would like to thank various friends who helped with personal care and Vancrest of Delphos for their wonderful care and understanding. She is survived by her children, Linda (Scott) Young of Lima, Ohio, and Bill (Brittany) Lang of Lake Butler, Fla.; grandchildren, Sarah Young, Emily (Karl) Young and Bronson Lang; step-grandchildren, Jameson Lang, Bristol Lang and Easton Tetstone; and great-grandchildren, Brendan Young and Landon Young. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, at the Shawnee Chapel of CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, Lima, Ohio. A service will begin at 5 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Mark Bayliff officiating. Burial will be in Monongahela Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to WTGN Radio, 1600 Elida Road, Lima, OH 45805. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
