Thelma R. ‘Rennie’ Smith – Rostraver Township

Thelma R. “Rennie” Smith, 81, of Rostraver Township, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022. Born in Port Vue on Jan. 9, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Stephen P. and Ann D. Barnish Rendulic. Thelma was a homemaker and a registered nurse. She graduated from McKeesport Hospital Nursing School in 1961 and worked at McKeesport Hospital. She was a member of the McKeesport Hospital Nurses Alumni Association and the St. Anne Roman Catholic Church in Rostraver Township. She is survived by her sons, Kevin T. (Lori) Smith of Greensburg, and Brian T. (Lori) Smith of Elizabeth Township; grandchildren, Riley, Loralie and Makayla, Marc and Malinda; great-grandson, Alex; sister, Ann Louise (Leonard) Gorzynski of North Huntingdon; and sister-in-law, Nancy Large of West Mifflin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Smith, on Sept. 13, 1994. Friends will be received from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Church of St. Anne with the Rev. Rodolfo P. Mejia presiding. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, www.nationalmssociety.org or Disabled American Veterans www.dav.org.
