Edna June Detwiler, 89, of Monongahela, went home to be with her savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Feb. 14, 2022, in the comfort of her own home, with her family and friends by her side. Born in Elrama, on June 20, 1932, she is the daughter of the late Linvel and Daisy Candler Comer. Two years after graduating from Monongahela High School Class of 1950, Edna met the man she would share 61 wonderful years with, her late husband, Harold E. Detwiler. Edna was a member of Calvary Bible Church in North Charleroi and sang in the church choir for many years. Her joy in life was singing praises to the Lord and she is now in heaven singing with a choir of angels. Edna is survived by her daughter, Susan Judy and her husband Barry Judy, their children Emily and husband Mark Whitmer and their children, Cash Whitmer and Birdy Whitmer; and a son, Alan Ludovici and his children, Julie DeSalvo, Jessica Ludovici, Jersey Ludovici and Garrett Hemmings.  Edna is also survived by her daughter, Cindy Mudrick and her husband Rick Mudrick, their children, Samuel Mudrick, Timothy Mudrick, Adam Mudrick and his wife Brittany Mudrick and their children, Lina, Niko, Luca and Mila Mudrick; and Maribeth Strelick and her husband Cody Strelick and their children, Dottie June, Millie and Samantha Strelick. She is also survived by her sister, Alta Schollaert; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and the countless people she loved like family. In addition to her parents, Linvel and Daisy Candler Comer; and her late husband, Harold E. Detwiler; Edna was preceded in death by her siblings, Margaret Hoover, Morris Comer, Lionel Comer and Doris Eisengart.  Friends and family will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., (formerly Schrock- Hogan Funeral Home), 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2022. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.hogan-melenyzer.com.
