John ‘Jack’ M. Tinivell Sr. – Fallowfield Township

John “Jack” M. Tinivell Sr., 89, of Fallowfield Township, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, with his wife by his side, on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022. Born on May 12, 1932, in Fallowfield Township, Jack was the son of the late John and Freda Belle Hartford Tinivell.   Following his graduation from Charleroi High School, in 1951, Jack served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. He spent 18 years in Union Steward Local 1407. A proud 32-year PIAA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association) league official, he was also an honorary member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America as well as a member of the Boy Scouts of America. Jack is survived by his wife, Deodora Hamay Tinivell; his daughter, Jennifer Tinivell; stepdaughters, Robin (James) Hutmacher of Milton, Ga., and Danielle (Mike) Quidetto of New Alexandria, Pa.; three grandsons; three granddaughters; two great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as sister-in-law, Jane and John Burcin of Ellsworth; Cindy and Sam Forte of Rincon, Ga.; Steve A. Hamay of Michigan; and Kevin Hamay of Ellsworth. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his stepmother, Elsie; and his son, John M. Tinivell Jr. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022, at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., (formerly Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home), 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Feb. 17, 2022, with Pastor Ken Custer officiating. Private interment will occur at Maple Creek Cemetery.
