Lamont D. Byrd – Monessen, formerly of Brownsville

Lamont D. Byrd, 62, departed this life on Feb. 3, 2022. Lamont was a Private 1st Class Marine and a coal miner at Consol Energy. Lamont was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher C. Byrd and Yvonne Weatherspoon Byrd; brothers, Kerwyn D. Byrd Sr. and Christopher “Chipper” Byrd; and his only sister, Yma Byrd Smith. Left to cherish his memories are his brothers, Kevin Byrd, Devega Byrd and Lamar Byrd. In addition to his loving children, Ashleigh Byrd Bobin and Christopher D. Byrd. Lamont leaves behind his three special grandchildren, Jamar Byrd, Christian Byrd and Bella Byrd; and doggie grandson, Rilo; long-time love and fiancée, Leah Jarvis; and his dog, Lundon. He will live on through a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Viewing will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, with a service starting at noon at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 230 Reed Ave., Monessen, with Bishop Karl Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. Celebration of life has been gently placed in the hands of HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora, Karl Jackson, funeral director, 724-379-5420.
