Kourtney Lynn Gavatorta – West Newton

Kourtney Lynn Gavatorta, 22, of West Newton, Rostraver Township, passed away Friday, Feb. 4, 2022. Born Nov. 17, 1999, in Monongahela, she was the daughter of the late James A. Gavatorta and Krista Gray Gavatorta, who survives and resides in Rostraver Township. A lifelong resident of Rostraver Township, Kourtney was a server at Jake’s Pizza in Rostraver. She was a Belle Vernon Area High School graduate and a graduate of Douglas Education Center with an associate’s degree in cosmetology and aesthetics. She enjoyed playing softball all throughout her childhood, high school and travel, enjoyed all music, loved to dance and go to concerts with her family. Kourtney enjoyed going out to eat, being creative and doing DIY crafts. She loved her dog, Winter, and going on vacations and spending time with her family, especially her niece, Brynlee. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sister, Karlee Gavatorta; sister and brother-in-law, Kandice and  Zach Gaines; sister and brother-in-law, Katelyn and Mario Rendina; special sister/best friend, Karly McBride; niece and nephew, Brynlee and Lorenzo Rendina; maternal grandmother, Sally Gray; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father; and paternal grandmother, Donna Gavatorta. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC with Pastor Mary Kay Glunt of First Presbyterian Church, Belle Vernon, officiating.
