Clyde W. Qualk – Coal Center

Clyde W. Qualk, 83, of Coal Center, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022. He was born Sunday, Oct. 16, 1938, in Brownsville, son of the late Charles A. and Ruth Sutherland Qualk. Mr. Qualk attended Grace United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee for many years. He enjoyed raising beef cattle and anything farm related. He was an avid hunter and a lifetime member of the NRA. On March 8, 1958, he married the love of his life, Mary Jane Fiedler. They enjoyed many years of living and working on the family farm together. He graduated from California Area Schools and attended Conley Vocational School in Pittsburgh for welding. Clyde was a welder and group leader for Peoples Natural Gas Co. for 36 years, retiring in 1993. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Mary Jane Fiedler Qualk; two sons and two daughters, James C. Qualk and wife Leah of Brownsville, Clyde R. Qualk and wife Jennifer of Coal Center, Nancy L. Basile of Blainesburg, and Patricia S. Karl and husband Victor, of Smock. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Robyn Fitch (Mike), Jesse Qualk, Justin Stringer, Dominick Basile, Joshua Davis (Cassie), Jacob Columbus (Charlee Petrucci), Lucas Qualk, Cameron Qualk, Lee Qualk, Callie Qualk, Taylor Karl and Victor Karl; and two great-grandchildren, Jaden Zuzak and Allie Davis. Friends will be received at MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, Pa., from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022. A celebration of Clyde’s life will be held on his farm this summer. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Grace Christian Education Center, 420 California Drive, Coal Center, PA 15423.
