Michael Thomas Kondratik – Charleroi

Michael Thomas Kondratik, 80, of Charleroi, passed away on Monday, Jan. 31, 2022, at West Penn Hospital. A son of the late Michael and Mary Madzy Kondratik, he was born in Charleroi on March 6, 1941. A lifelong resident of Charleroi, Michael was a member of St. Andrew Apostle Parish in Charleroi. He also loved spending time with his family and on the golf course with his son and grandchildren. Michael loved golf and was a member of the Holy Ghost Golf League, coached golf for Charleroi High School and coached Charleroi Junior High football. He was also the coordinator for the Charleroi Ski Club. Michael was a Charleroi High School graduate and pursued his football career at the University of Arizona, finishing at the former California State College. Michael was a Charleroi High School industrial arts teacher, retiring in 1998. After retirement, he worked at Cedarbrook golf course. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Donna Pieri Kondratik; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Kevin Konek of Fallowfield Township; a son, Scott Kondratik of Fallowfield Township; five grandchildren, Brandon Konek, Ryan Konek, Michael Kondratik, Hannah Kondratik and Sarah Kondratik, all of Fallowfield Township; and a sister, Olga Gwyer of Murrells Inlet, S.C. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son in infancy, Michael Kondratik; and brothers-in-law, Donald Pieri and Barry Gwyer. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at St. Andrew Apostle Parish, Charleroi, with Father Joseph Uzar as celebrant, followed by interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
