Charles R. Cain Jr. – Forward Township

Charles R. Cain Jr., 80, of Forward Township, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Jan. 28, 2022. He was a son of the late Charles R. and Louise Staffen Cain Sr. Chuck graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School. He worked at Combustion Engineering as a welder for 20 years and then worked for NASH Kinema until retirement. Charles served in the U.S. Army during peacetime, serving overseas in Korea. He was a lifetime member of the River Hill Church of Christ where he was an elder and, volunteered his time with his “little church on the hill.” He loved spending time with his grandsons and going to see their wrestling, football and dek hockey competitions.  He is survived by his wife, Shirley Scagline Cain, with whom he celebrated 56 years of marriage. They have three children: son, Eric Cain of Forward Township, daughter, Lisa Cain of Forward Township, and son, Mark and his wife Jennifer Haines Cain of Elizabeth Township. He is also survived by two grandsons, Ethan and Logan Cain; and a brother, Raymond Cain of Forward Township. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elva Boissin; brother,  Rich “RC” Cain; and sister-in-law, Sharyn Piscitelli Cain. A family gathering was held Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St. Monongahela, with a funeral service conducted by the  Rev. Paul Eisaman. Interment was held in Monongahela Cemetery. The family asks that memorial donations in Chuck’s memory be made to the River Hill Church of Christ, 2105 River Hill Road, Monongahela PA 15063.
