Lucy J. Gondak, 88, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022. A daughter of the late Malcolm and Hilda Lapson Russell, she was born Sept. 6, 1933, in Monongahela. Living most of her adult life in Belle Vernon, Lucy was a member of First United Methodist Church in Belle Vernon and worked for 30 years at the former Charland Sewing Co. in Speers, retiring in the early ’90s. Survivors include one daughter, Denise Angelo of Belle Vernon; two granddaughters, Chelsea Angelo of Belle Vernon and Hayley Angelo of Monongahela; three great-grandchildren, Sophia Angelo, Rylie Ziemba and Karson Angelo; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Russell of Donora; and a son-in-law, John Angelo of Monessen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Gondak on March 20, 2007; and a brother, Duncan Russell in 2007. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, at Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A funeral service will be in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, with the Rev. Ryan Washabaugh officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park.
