Doris Faye Houseman – Smithton

Doris Faye Houseman, 93, of Smithton, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022. She was born Sept. 17, 1928, a daughter of the late Raymond and Arena (Grimes) Edwards. Doris was a member of Smith Nazarene Church. As a minister’s wife, she worked a lot in the church. Surviving are five children, Ralph E. Houseman and wife, Linda, Joyce F. Bennett and husband, Bill, Rebecca S. Darst, Bonnie L. King and husband, Michael, and Sheri L. Yokiel and husband, Jim; nine grandchildren, Beverly Plesniak and husband, Joe, Heather Bennett, JB Darst and wife, Roni, Christina Deer, Michael Jr. and Morgan King, Larissa Nicholson and husband, Jeff, Victoria Bruno and husband, Kodey, and Caleb Yokiel; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ralph O. Houseman; grandsons, Eric Bennett and Jason Deer; a son-in-law, Butch Darst; and seven brothers and sisters. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the J. WILLIAM MCCAULEY, JR. FUNERAL HOME, 901 Vine St., West Newton, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday.
