Kathy Lynne Burnisky, 59, of Greensburg, formerly of Finleyville, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, in her home. She was born Dec. 4, 1962, in New Eagle, a daughter of the late Alfred J. and Marion E. Rhodes Meek Jr. Kathy was a devoted mother, and her grandchildren were everything to her. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casinos and especially loved her annual vacations with John to the Smokey Mountains. She is survived by her significant other, John Balchik of Madison, Tenn., with whom she shared the past 14 years; daughter, Dawn Meek and son-in-law, Noble Thompson of Latrobe; son, Robert Poland of Bentleyville; seven grandchildren, Khalil, Eriana, Nasir, Noble, Adilyn, Kenna and Nevaeh; two sisters, Karen Meek and Dane Waters of Fairview, and Cindy Slanczka of South Carolina; three brothers, Ron Meek and wife Robin of Espyville, Rick Meek of Monongahela and Ed Meek and wife Samantha of Coal Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bradley and Kenneth Meek. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 West Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, with Pastor Gilbert Szackal officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Expressions of sympathy may be offered to the family at www.fryefuneralhome.com.
