Susan Marie Rood, 70, of Dunlevy, passed away peacefully in her home on Jan. 17, 2022. The daughter of the late R. Henry and Shirley Hobaugh Stitt, Susan was born on Jan. 23, 1951, in Ford City. Susan will be remembered for her contagious laugh and sense of humor. Her life revolved around her family and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Surviving to cherish Susan’s memory are her daughter, Heather Sue Rood Skobel and her husband Chris; daughter, Julie Ann Rood Leo and her husband Salvatore; her five grandchildren, Mackenzie, Bella and Emma Skobel and Madilyn and Sammy Leo. Susan was preceded in death by her parents. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Amish Mehta for his kindness and compassion. Per Susan’s wishes, all services were held privately for the immediate family only. Arrangements have been entrusted to HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC. (formerly Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home), 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022, Kirk Russell Melenyzer, funeral director. Private interment will occur at Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Ford City.
