Susan Tegi, 70, of Carroll Township, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital in Carroll Township, with her loving family by her side. She was born Oct. 23, 1951, in North Charleroi, the daughter of the late William Brody and the late Violet Mikota Brody. Susan was a beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend. She was a caregiver for many people and loved helping anyone who was in need. She loved to travel and plant flowers around her home. Susan was a Ringgold school teacher for 39 years and a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA) and the National Education Association (NEA). She was a member of the St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Donora, the Catholic Women’s College Club and the Rusin Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three dogs, Lexie, Willie and Snowy, whom she shared with her dear neighbor. Surviving to cherish her memory is her wonderful husband of 46 years, Ronn Tegi, who took care of her until the end; a sister, Mary Ellen (Chuck) Catullo; a brother, William Brody Jr.; niece, Kristie (Jim); nephews, Andrew, Eric, Michael, Christopher and Allen; a brother-in-law, Darrel (Donna) Tegi; a sister-in-law, Diane (Terry) Post; her YAYA sisters, Carla, Linda, Karen and Michelle; also several other close friends and aunts. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St., Ext., Carroll Township/Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2022. Parastas service to be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be held in St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Donora, at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, with the Rev. Father Stephen Wahal officiating. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery. To be socially responsible during this time of the increase in COVID-19 cases due to the new variants, we will continue to require guests to obey social distancing guidelines and personal protection guidelines which include masks within the funeral home.
