Joanne Kathryn Manetta, 86, of Belle Vernon, passed away at 1:44 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital, following a brief illness. A daughter of the late Harry Clifford Cunningham and Kathryn Graff Cunningham, she was born June 8, 1935, in Connellsville. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 62 years, she was formerly of Fayette City. Joanne was Catholic by faith. She was primarily a homemaker, but she did work at Guttman Oil early on and at Hill’s Department Store in the 1980s. She graduated from Bellmar High School and served for many years as her Class of 1953 annual All-Bellmar reunion coordinator. She enjoyed crafting homemade jewelry, reading, cooking and family. She attended the Mon Valley HealthPlex cardio rehab program for the past 3 1/2 years for exercise and socializing with the wonderful nurses and patients there. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Dean Smith of Monessen; one son, Vince Manetta of Belle Vernon; four grandchildren, Carly Smith Bellora and husband Shawn of Rostraver Township, Matthew Manetta of Tallinn, Estonia, Rachael Manetta of Dodge City, Kan., and Steven Manetta of Ames, Iowa. She was especially fond of her great-granddaughter, Emma Sue Bellora. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent “Jim” Manetta in 2012; a daughter, Joan Bernadetta Manetta, in infancy in 1962; and brothers, Robert, Alan, Roy and Harry Cunningham. Friends will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, in the family’s home, 709 Fayette Ave., Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
