Bettie Jane Love, 85, of Monessen, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Feb. 10, 1936, in Monessen, the daughter of John Love and Maggie Carter. Bettie grew up in Monessen and was a member of the Class of 1955 at Monessen High School. She retired from Mon Valley Hospital as a ward clerk in the emergency department. She previously worked at Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg, as a nurse aide for more than a decade. Bettie was a member of the American Legion Post 691 Ladies Auxiliary. Bettie J. was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Tom, George, Paul, Willis and Bruce; and four sisters, Wilma, Alice, Johnella and Patricia. She is survived by a son, Willis Love of Monessen; a daughter, Carolyn Bright Morgan (Victor) of Delaware; grandchildren, Kellie Love, Titus (Jeremiah), Tonya Love Ferguson and Charity Graham William (Randeen). She also raised a stepson, John Bright III; five great-grandchildren, Evan, Morgan, Jackson, Steel and Hawk; in addition to several beloved nieces and nephews. Viewing is from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Jan. 11, 2022, with a service starting at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 230 Reed Ave., Monessen, with Elder Jack Howell officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Celebration of life has been gently placed in the hands of HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora, Karl Jackson, funeral director, 724-379-5420.
