Barry W. Ritchie – Fayette City
Barry W. Ritchie, 70, from Jefferson Estates, Fayette City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022. He was the son of the late Woodrow and Stella Celapino Ritchie. He worked at the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel mills in Monessen and Allenport, Genesis I and Genesis II Plastic Co. of Speers, Sony Electronics of Mt. Pleasant and retired from Universal Electrics of Canonsburg. He worked at Parzynski Funeral Home for many years after his retirement and enjoyed coaching the youth soccer team in Belle Vernon for many years. He was a member of Community of Christ, Fayette City, where he was an ordained minister. His greatest pleasure was marrying his niece, Michelle, to her husband, Chuck. He was married to his high school sweetheart and soulmate, Rebecca (Becky Evans) Ritchie for 52 years. He leaves behind his three sons, Barry (Jennifer) Ritchie Jr. of Frostburg, Md., Brian Ritchie of Robinson Township and Chris (Jennifer) Ritchie of Jefferson Estates, Fayette City; his seven grandchildren, the joy of his life, Trevor, Jacob, Emilee, Alyssa, Tyler, Noah and Luca Bella Ritchie; his sister, Linda (Regis) Podraza of Yukon; brother, Ron (Beverly) Ritchie of Belle Vernon; two brothers-in-law, Clyde Evans of New Hope, Pa., and Tim (Cathy) Evans of Morrisville, Pa.; mother-in-law, Caroline Evans; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Ritchie; two sisters-in-law, Nancy H. Ferraton and Maryann Evans; and father-in-law, Clyde Evans. He will be sadly missed by many friends and family. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC with the Elder Tom Hamer of Community of Christ officiating. Interment will take place in Mon Valley Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Barry W. Ritchie to the Alzheimer’s Association.
